Gemma Barricarte
Architect and environmental activist
She holds a degree in Architecture from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB-UPC) and a master's degree in Political Ecology from the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). She has also studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (UB).
She is a member of the research group Aesthetics Fossil (CSIC) and has a long career in environmental and student activism. She has published her essays and articles through the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and media such as El País, Climática and CTXT. She has also carried out outreach work by conducting radio interviews and giving numerous lectures at places such as the International University of Peace (UNIPAU), the UPC and the UB. Her main lines of research are related to urban studies and political ecology.
